Well, Thanksgiving's come and gone. We didn't celebrate it, of course, since it's just far too much stress to deal with. It's really not as important as everyone makes it out to be. I mean sure, things like that are nice, but they're not completely necessary. All that really matters lately is just living your life from day to day, getting by and preparing for the future. What's the use of dwelling on the little things now? I'm not exactly too thrilled with the idea of letting what happens now affect my future in the least. Many people forget that aspect. We have short lives, and it's a shame to live in the past. Of course, you should never forget what has happened because it has helped you grow into who you are today - at least in my situation it has. And I'm still growing, I always will be. I'm getting stronger and stronger as the days go on. Some may say that it's not good to be too distant from your emotions as I may seem, but in truth, I am not that distant from my emotions. I still feel them, but I know how to handle them. Mentally blocking out the pain takes years of experience, and barriers are not something to be feared like everyone says. They just mean you're stronger and can handle emotional blows well - well enough to be able to cope with whatever gets thrown at you. It's ridiculous to think that everyone should break down and cry at something. Just because the person doesn't cry, doesn't mean that they don't think it's sad, it just means that they know how to deal with it. Not everyone cries, and there's nothing wrong with that. Personally, crying makes me feel weak, because I know that I could be doing better things like helping someone who isn't as strong as me to cope.

Wow, I went a little off topic, and kind of rambled...

Coming up with a blog name for my sister is harder than it looks... Too many choices! Dx My brain is getting a workout from thinking so hard while sleep deprived.

Mom says that my father may have to stay in rehab for a few days while they work on his knee. Would I complain? Not exactly... Ah if only.

So I tried the braid style - just one braid - and I loved the result! Of course, my hair isn't holding the waves completely for as long as I would like, but still! It works!

Meanwhile, I cannot think of how to design my nails...I might try some sort of ocean thing next...

Since when did this turn into a weird form of a pathetic beauty blog?

I really suck at hair styles... I swear. I've never really been into doing hairstyles for myself, but recently, I've wanted to learn how to do some of them. I've started by testing out a few methods on how to get wavy hair. Some people swear by braiding, but I can't braid! I'll have to practice on my mom when she comes home from work today.

Today my method was via bun. Today, I did a bun for the first time. You know how it looks? I don't think it looks bad for my first time actually... I had to use all the bobby pins I could find and two hair ties to get it to stay in place though... My hair really hates hairstyles... Anyways! Once this is dry, I'll take it down and see how this method looks. With my luck, it'll look horrible, but eh. Tomorrow is via braid, and the next day, I'll try some twist thing.

So, on my nails, I can do flowers, branches, a star, French tip, circles, polka dots, water marbling, gradients, and diagonal lines. I cannot, however, paint a dang horizontal line to save my life... How is that even possible...

Wow, I have not used my LJ in months! Well, here I am finally! Maybe we can get our little LJ community started up again xD

Well, for starters on an update, I've been working a lot more on my Korean lately. At the moment, I'm trying to reinforce what I know about the Hangul letter system so that I can read them more rapidly. I know what all of them translate to, I just want to get the sounds and recognition skills before I move onto the hardcore Korean learning!

I've picked up nail art and I learned a new technique called 'water marbling!' It's so much fun! You get to mix all the colors you want together and make a little design (my mom compared it to one of those little coffee art things), stick your finger in over the design you want and bam! You have an awesome design! Right now, I have a mixture of a dark blue, a medium-dark purple, a teal, and a hot pink (really pops) on my nails. Once I finish the other nails, I'll post some pictures up on Facebook. I'm practicing my gradient nails, and while I'm still learning, I think I'm doing rather well with it. So far, I did a gradient pink on my thumbs, a teal fading into a pink on my ring fingers, and a dark purple fading into teal on my pinkies. That teal is really multifunctional xD I love how it can be dark or light, depending on what you match it with, and still look great. I'm still not sure what to do on my middle fingers yet, and I may change my ring fingers to something else (maybe another water color or a cute design? I did a star and some circles last time.) I was going to do checkers, but I'm not so sure that's turning out so great with the look I'm going for right now. I love how all these colors contrast and yet compliment each other.

On the family note. My cousin and I are starting to talk to each other again. (yay) Hopefully my family relations will get better from here on out and I can have more than just my mom on my list of who I claim as my family.
